I started researching bottles for the LO. The three popular brands seem to be Dr. Browns, Tommee Tippee and Avent (with Playtex following in 4th place!). However, per the reviews, all of them sound like they have leaking issues.
DS had some gas issues and a lot of ear infections, so I?m trying to find a bottle that can help with the colic and reduce the chance of ear infections just in case this baby also has some issues. I?m also going to attempt to breastfeed, but will be going back to work within 6-8 weeks, so will also need bottles that might be better for those who go back and forth between breast & bottle-feedings because I?m trying to prevent nipple confusion. I used regular Gerber bottles with DS and then Playtex Drop-Ins for awhile to help with his gas (he was also put on low-iron formula for awhile), but it was a pain in the butt to keep buying the drop-ins. More than once I found myself making bottles and running out of the inserts!
Any feedback on the bottles mentioned above or other brands that are not mentioned will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Re: XP: Bottles
We used Avent and had no issues with leaking. I will use them again for #2.
My two cents
GL!
In my bag: Canon 60D, 50mm 1.4, Tamron 28-75 2.8, 430exii
Ditto this. I used them with both and had no problems. In the very beginning with DS they leaked, but it was because I didn't put the lid on properly/tight enough. It only happened twice before I learned lol
DS 3.12.08
DD 7.11.09
DD 8.01.13
I did see a couple of reviews that stated the leaking was due to a certain piece not being in the proper place.
Thanks for the reco's!
Loved Dr. Browns! Never leaked and DS has some gas/reflux issues. We never had any nipple confusion problems with them.
Oh, and the regular ones (not the wide ones) fit on the Medela pump. It was so nice to be able to pump right into the bottle and not have to wash a separate collection bottle!
Avent always leaked for me. I thought I was doing something wrong and I even watched multiple Youtube videos to see what I could be missing and I still had leaking issues.
