obsession with eating buggers

I don't even know how to spell buggers but however you spell it I don't understand why my kids will eat them!  No matter what I tell them, gag when I see them doing it, insist they get a tissue, whatever they keep doing it.  I know many kids do this (I see them and gag at them too) but why???!!!

I always make them wash their hands throroughly if I catch them.

Pretty sure it's just one of those kid things that's hard to deter. Although, I just tell mine it's disgusting and to knock it off. Oh, and it's "boogers." ;-)

Buggers is even nastier than boogers! 

Who knows why kids do lots of gross stuff.  Just keep telling them not to, catch them when they do, etc. and let peer pressure take care of the rest.
