Hi ladies,
I'm new here, and while I am taking the next steps very slow, my husband and I have agreed to adoption to help build our family. I have no idea about adoption, aside from what I read in the FAQ and some basic internet searching. Frankly, I am really hoping to adopt internationally (my eyes are on Colombia and Eastern Europe because of our own heritage) and really want a girl:) I'm also in law school and planning to take family law next semester, so hopefully I'll be able to maneuver through the system a little easier than most.
Sounds like we won't be able to avoid the expensive price, but I figure it's about the same price as having IVF, which knowing my luck would end up not working anyway.
Anyway, I look forward to reading your posts.
Re: hey ladies- new here
Welcome!
I don't think my family law class even touched on adoption. If it did, it just brushed on the topic. I've learned that adoption law is a very specialized area, and even most family law attorneys know little about it. It's a practice area that I'm hoping to get into. When do you graduate?
Welcome!
Welcome!
And good luck in the process.
