So we have had the worst luck with TWC at this house. Granted they suck to begin with but they've never gotten our stuff to work thanks to the outside line in the neighborhood apparently. We gave up and got Direct TV but still have roadrunner, but even that is constantly not working well.
So we're considering going to AT&T DSL (Uverse isn't in our area yet). Anyone know if the DLS is much noticeably slower than cable? We're also looking at switching to their wireless. TIA!
Re: Time warner vs AT&T (NBR)
I'll have to check about zoomtown, I don't know if we have access to it or not. As for our TWC, we did have the really fast RR, but b/c our line is so crappy we were only getting the speeds of the lite so we switched to the lite (we've had them out at least 15 times in the last 2 1/2 years trying to fix the cable line and that's the best we seem to get, I"m pretty much done with TWC). As of last night our speeds were right around 5 MB/sec.
ETA: We don't have access to Zoomtown so I think it's AT&T for us. We'd really like to switch to Uverse when it comes to our area, but no idea when that will be and I am so done with dealing with TWC and having people in and out of our house constantly.
That's the kind of thing we've delt with with TWC. Direct TV has been awesome, rarely goes out and only twice when we had really bad storms or the ice storm. TWC is just ridiculous. 2 1/2 years of calls and they act like it's a new problem every time. We went ahead and went with AT&T this evening after talking about it some more. It's a little slower than what we have now, but hopefully it will at least work consistently where right now TWC isn't working for hours at a time and then is slow as molassas in January the rest of the time.
