I agree that things have changed! When some of us were younger our moms were given a hard time for BF'ing.. now it is def the other way around!
FWIW i BF'd Cam as long as I could but I personally think that formula was WAY easier!
Re: C&P from 12-24
Agreed.
"It took me a long time to realize that what Layla needed more than breast milk was a mother who wasn?t exhausted and stewing in shame."
I think this is the most important point. You need to do whatever it is you need to do to be the best mother you can be. I was only able to BF until 3 months. Despite fenugreek, mother's milk tea, pumping, lactation cookies, etc, etc, I just never produced enough. It was difficult but once I accepted it and made the switch I was able to be a much better mother to Lila. Me being stressed and upset didn't do any of us any good.

I was coming in here to quote this exact same sentence. I was able to BF for 13.5 months, but it was not easy, and I had a lot of support.
We need to stop judging other mothers for the choices they make regarding their families. All of us are doing the best we can! I would never, ever look down on a mom for FF, and I hope no one would look down on me for the choices I have made regarding my child. As long as that baby is being fed, then the method is fine by me!
We also need to let go of our mommy guilt (easier said than done) because all it does is make what should be an easy decision harder, and it wastes a lot of time.

Very well said, and I completely agree.
Great article.
