I'm about to dive into the sea of unknown and create my registry.
How did you decide which car seat to buy, which stroller to buy, what you wanted on your registry?
I know I have a bazillion magazine and books, but the variety of resources makes it that much more overwhelming. Did you have one go-to resource?
Re: What resources did you use to pick registry items?
reviews. I also googled "registry must haves" in Blogs..
I hear most people really recommend Baby Bargains.
BLOG
A lot of women on here have suggested https://www.lucieslist.com/
It's pretty good. Hope that helps!

I would NOT recommend lucie's list. Not only is it just a list of one mom's preferences, she has a lot of false information, and a lot of "I never used/had one, but I wouldn't recommend it!" You'll get better (and more accurate advice) by posting here asking for recommendations.
Sorry, I highly disagree with this comment. I'm not saying that she has the latest details of every product, and yes, the blog is WRITTEN by one woman, however if you read it you will find that she has a group of friends who are all moms and she is giving you the consensus of their collective opinions, which is why she lists some opinions about some things she never used herself. I read through her blog, and did a lot of research on my own (Baby Bargains, Consumer Reports, and reading reviews on Amazon/other websites, as well as reading parenting websites and their top recommended items lists), and Lucie's List has some very relevant info and almost always rec's things that are already highly rec'd by other sites.
I thought it was an extremely helpful website, and it got me to change my mind and choose the City Mini stroller, which after seeing it in the store is really an amazing stroller, and I hadn't seen it listed too many other places like Baby Bargains or the CR site, so the one I originally chose based on what I previously read was nowhere near as good as the City Mini. I can thank Lucie's List for that rec!

Baby Bargains, Baby Bargains, Baby Bargains!
It really was the best resource. I also thought about what I may need just walking through the stores and looking at what was available. Most of it I used, some I didn't, and usually ended up going out to get things that would make life a little easier.
yeah. I've read it. It's not any different than the moms of 2 week olds who stop by 3rd tri telling people to "ask them anything!" because they're now experts at newborns.
Sorry, it's laughable. I'm glad she got you to look at a stroller you like...but you would have gotten that rec here too
The city mini is one of the most recommended strollers on the bump.

I am doing the same thing right now. So far I have been using consumer reports, baby bargains and asking my friends. The ladies on this site are amazing too.
GL!
Ordering baby bargains and consumer reports (and will check lucie's list too).
Thanks girls!!!
The new baby bargains book should be coming out in march/april,so you may want to hold off. I just went to a Barnes and Nobles, got a latte and sat down with my notebook and went through the book. It took a couple hours, but it was a nice little getaway. Others also recommend taking it out from the library instead of buying.

?
Thank you for the entire post - I was coming on this morning to ask this exact same question and by the time I finished reading I have also ordered Baby Bargins and Consumer Reports~ and book marked Lucie's list... ?Thanx!?
Hey ladies - I saw all this traffic coming from this post, so I wanted to drop in and say hello.
Thanks for recommending my site, lucieslist.com ~ I appreciate your support.
Regarding currency, I strive to keep it as up-to-date as possible. If there is anything you find to be out of date or expired, please let me know and I'll correct it.
I am just a mom, not an expert. It is the world according to me. I do, however, spend a TON of time every day talking to moms and picking their brains. I also cross check everything with Baby Bargains, Consumer Reports and Amazon. It's a labor of love (no pun intended).
Good luck to everyone and thanks again for the feedback!
