Moms of boys, am I the only one having issues dressing my son while using CDs? We have mostly PFs and covers and a few fitteds. I went this route as one of my main reasons we've decided to cloth diaper is the cost savings, and I couldn't justify spending $18 or so on ONE diaper. However, I'm having major problems dressing my child. The PFs and covers I have seem to almost touch his knees when they are on, and the only type of pants he can wear are stretchy type pants. This is fine for around the house, but I would like him to wear jeans/khakis on particular occasions (church, holidays, etc) especially when he gets older. I know this seems petty, but I would like to "dress him up" on occasion. I tried the gdiapers, but they leak like crazy. The swaddlebees fitteds are a little trimmer, but I only have one of those. Should I just bite the bullet and buy a few pockets or AIOs for those occasions? Throw a Thirsties cover over the gdipes? Put him in sposies when hes wearing tighter clothes? Will this be less of a problem as he grows longer and has longer thighs? Help! I'm even contemplating switching to sposies after he's out of this size PF. Ps sorry for the lack of paragraphs-on my iPhone.

I always just put my DS in fleece dark colored (navy or black) pants, instead of stretch cotton pants when I want to dress him up. I think I would do that even if he wore disposables, because I think napping in jeans would be very uncomfortable.
I would definitely get a few pockets or AIOs though, if you really want to put him in jeans or khakis. We use both pockets and prefolds with covers. A pocket with a hemp insert is very trim and dries quickly.
I know I'm late to the game in answering but I just wanted to let you know that once he grows into the diapers a bit more they will look a little more trim on him. Obviously they are never going to be as trim as disposables but they'll look a lot better than the do now- even the prefolds.
The one style of pants that I've recently run into that look TERRIBLE with cloth diapers are sweatpants that have the elastic leg at the bottom. Other than that we haven't had a problem- not even in tight little hipster boy jeans. We do use pockets under jeans and khakis though.
