Making your own longies

My mom wants to get back into knitting - she used to make us sweaters when we were little, but didn't try pants.  She has looked at patterns for longies and says it doesn't look hard.  Has anyone here made them, and know how difficult it is?  Also, what kind of wool should she be looking for?

Not hard I've made several pairs. You need at least 80% wool. I knit with mostly 100% wool. You can use anything from cheap fishermas wool to expensive hand dyed stuff from etsy or hyena cart.
