Re: worried about miscarriage :(

  • I am afraid too.  My miscarriage was "easy and efficient" according to the specialist I saw because of the atypical presentation.  This time around I was afraid to tell anyone, even our parents because I was afraid it was bad luck.  This week my SIL gave me a Baby Bullet and I thought "nooo don't jinx it!"  The next night I started bleeding and blamed my SIL for my impending m/c (though I didn't say it out loud) turns out the baby is fine so far and I have a benign subchorionic bleed.  Doesn't mean I am not terrified that I am going to lose this one too.  I won't feel better until I am holding this baby in my arms.  It's going to be a long 30 weeks.

  • You should go to the "Pregnant after a Loss" board.  After you start to feel more comfortable, check out your birth club board.  Not sure if you'll get the support you need here.

  • I'm so sorry about your previous loss. I think whether someone has had a miscarriage before or not, they still worry about it. You aren't being a "downer" at all about it, you are being human. It's completely understandable.

I don't have any real advice to offer since I haven't been in your shoes, but I think the "worrying" is just a never ending part of parenting. It starts at the first positive test and goes on, as a parent you never stop worrying about your child. Don't get too down on yourself about not being overly excited, but also allow yourself to get excited. Many women have miscarriages and go on to have healthy, happy children.

  • I'm in exactly your position. It's hard(er) not to worry given our history, and I'm also nervous. All we can do it take it one day at a time and hope. You're not alone. ((hugs!))

  • I am also in that boat. It is very difficult to not be a constant nervous wreck. You may want to look at the "pregnant after a loss" and "pregnant after IF" boards. They can be quite reassuring, and it is women who have had similar experiences.

  • i feel the same way.  i am a nervous wreck.  but there isn't much we can do but take it one day at a time.  one of my fellow october mom's allows puts in her post to say "today i am pregnant, and i love my baby"  so i constantly do that when i get the nervous attacks.  good luck!
