Sorry if this is a repeat post, but I've looked back a little ways and haven't seen this topic. I'm pg with twins due in October (but will be September I'm sure). DS will be 2 in November. For those of you who already had another child before your multiples, do you recommend a triple stroller, or did you manage with just a double? DH doesn't think we need a triple but I can see it being beneficial in certain scenarios.
Thanks, ladies! It's fun to be over on this board
Re: 3 under 2 - stroller question
valco trimode twin with add-on toddler seat.
it's the only way I leave my house alone with all 3.
GL!
Very cool, thanks. I'd like to think there will be a day when mommy can take all 3 kids out at the same time! haha
I had my twins first than my singleton. I just did a double stroller and wore the baby. Now, my twins are over 2 and I just put one of the in the double with the baby and the other twin walks holding my hand. I have combi double stroller (side by side) and it is very easy to push with one had.
They also sell hitch boards that you can have your toddler stand on while you push the stroller!
With them being 2yrs apart I dont recommend spending a huge amount of money for any sort of stroller for 3.
When my girls were born my oldest was 1yr & 11 days old. (just a baby himself and had just started walking the week they were born) I was given a Graco DuoGlider for my shower. I had not really looked at strollers and since this board didnt exist then I had no one to really ask. I really thought the Graco DuoGlider was the only sort of double out there. (front to back)
So I wore 1 baby and had one in the stroller with L. He rode in the back seat and the baby in the infant carrier in the front. Then when he wanted to walk or I was tired of wearing a baby I could lay the back seat down and put the 2nd baby there.
I would have at that point with 3 13months and under paid any amount of money for a better option. Esp for the Valco trimode with toddler seat. That would have been PERFECT!!! But alas, it did not exist either. (my girls are almost 5yrs old now)
I ended up buying a Baby trend Triplet that I actually didnt mind too much. It was a life saver to have all 3 in a stroller. I got it when the girls were around 9months old. It was as good as it was going to get. I could still go about anywhere I wanted/needed. I was/am very independent and have been going out with all 3 since the girls were 2wks old. (may babies, perfectly healthy)
At this point skip a triple. By the time L was 2.5yrs old he was ok to walk most of the time. You may want ride on board for when he is tired of walking. They attach to most strollers.
