I went to Sonic the other day to grab something quick to eat (not my first choice but you know what it's like when you're in a hurry). I ordered my food and swiped my debit card in the card reader thing on the menu. It was taking forever to process but I was certain I saw it say approved. Well my food is delivered and the kid doing it tells me my total is $5 and whatever. I told him I swiped my card and that I was pretty sure it went through. He logs on and says that nothing was processed for my ticket number. So I hand him my debit card and he swipes it again. Well this time it was denied and I'm thinking to myself I know there is no reason for my card to be denied. So I hand him my credit card, he swipes it and it goes through.
When I got home I checked my account and sure enough I got charged twice! The reason my debit card was denied is because the time I swiped it was still pending/processing. ugh! I called the store to explain what happened and of course the first "manager" I spoke to was rude and told me there was no way that I could have possibly been charged twice but luckily the next person I spoke to, who actually was the manager, was much more understanding and said if both charges cleared my account to bring in my bank statement and she would refund me.
Well I checked my account this morning and sure enough both went through. The last thing I want to do is go back there and deal with this but even though it is only $5 I can't let go of the idea of being charged twice. UGH! Should I bother or just let it go?

Heck yes I agree! Think about it this way, if they did this around the country to how ever many people a day...they are ripping LOTS of people off. $5 bucks is $5!
