December 2010 Moms

FFFC??

C'mon! Let's make it a good one. : ))

Who wants to start?

And just to clarify--- I'm not a horrible teacher who sits at my desk all day and doesn't teach. I just get to be on a lot today because every. single. one of my classes is taking a quiz today. I'll grade them all later!

  • I'm completely ignoring the fact that today is my birthday.  I've made no plans.  Think I'll go get mani/pedi, chick fil a, and maybe later stop by Starbucks.  :)

    happy birthday! :)

  • This was my first week back at work full time and I like it!  I love Jacob more than anything but I am not SAHM material.

I also like pumping at work.  I have a nice little room and it forces me to take a break that I never would have before.  I'm even reading a real book!  That and my drive are my only cherished "alone time"

I do miss my little guy and I'm really sad I missed him rolling over though.

    Thank you!

  • I don't have to work today because the little boy I nanny for is sick and I'm more happy about it than I should be.  obviously I wish he weren't sick but I was so relieved to have the day off because this is the last day before H goes back to work and we have so much stuff to get done around the house!

  • Not sure if this is a FFFC or an UO but whatever.  I read through that whole "overwhelmed moms" post and I seriously don't understand why everyone freaked the fvck out.  I opened the post when it first came up, rolled my eyes and closed it.  I was really surprised to see everyone's reactions.

I'm posting and running because my landlord called and needs to show the apartment, so I need to finish cleaning and take a shower.  I'll come back later to see who disagrees with me, lol.

    **Edited for typo.

I don't disagree with you at all.  eyeroll worthy, yes. flame worthy, hardly.

  • Hmm, maybe more of a UO but I agree with the supreme court's decision re: Westboro nutjobs. They're assh0les and I think there's a special circle of heIl reserved for them, but free speech is for everyone. I would pay good money to see them get the everlivingshiit kicked out of them. I think if everyone would quit giving them so much airtime and ignore them, they would go away. They're extremists, they're unoriginal, there have been plenty of wackos like them before and there will be more.

Miss Underwhelmed needs to get her lazy @ss over to my house as this place is a wreck. Because I spend time with my kid when he's awake. Major cleaning needs to go down this weekend though. I'm embarrassed by what our bedroom looks like.

I'll bite.  I didn't think the original post was that bad either.  However, some of her follow-ups were real doozies.
  • I was watching some show about about pregnant women in prison last night.  My OU is that a those women should NOT be allowed to keep their kids in prison with them, if at all for a majority of them.

I agree with you...I think she was honestly just proud that she's not overwhelmed and people were ridiculous with their reactions...maybe because they're jealous that they are overwhelmed? (Maybe jealous is the wrong word). We all come on here to AW every once in a while...about our babies STTN, sleeping in their crib instead of a RNP, smiling or, for me, going out in public and not having their baby freak out lol.

Makenzie didn't sleep well all night so I was up and down so therefore by 8:00 I was ready for "lunch".

I think this is a good point.  and I get that the OP was ridiculous and her later statements were even more MUD-ish (btw I can't stand giving MUD posters the time of day) but why not just ignore it.  I wouldn't make a thread saying "has anybody else had the easiest time BFing ever?!"  because I'd expect people to find it off-putting,  but I would NOT have expected that kind of backlash.  it seemed over the top, like everyone was just drama hungry.

I would agree if she was just sharing her experience, but she said it's just crazy to her that people would be overwhelmed and said "If you are overwhelmed, what are your major complaints?" which seems condescending to me.

Idk, like I said, I'm not 'overwhelmed' and by the dumb-luck-of-the-draw I have an easy kid... but common sense tells me some other people have a rougher time for a huge variety of reasons and I wouldn't be an assh0le by insinuating it's so hard to believe. Someone with ppd or with a kid who screams 24/7 doesn't need to hear "What could be so hard about it for you when it's so super easy for me?"

I realize it's just a dream, it's ridiculous and I in now way think he would ever cheat on me- but I need at least a half hour or so to not be pissed at him, lol! One morning I actually woke up and hit him in the shoulder and he just said, "What did I do now?" Poor guy. Apparently my subconscious thinks he's a jerk.

  • I've been looking forward to FFFC because I think I have a totally flame-worthy confession... I love my baby and would do anything for him, but I resent the fact that I have to eliminate dairy from my diet for as long as I'm BFing.  I'm not mad at LO for it, I'm just kind of upset in general.

I was ok with cutting out some stuff when I was pregnant, but I thought I'd more or less have my body back after having LO.  In just the past week I've had to switch from putting cream to soy milk in my coffee.  I couldn't eat pizza when my friends and I got together on Sunday.  A bunch of friends came to visit this week and brought cupcakes, cake, and other desserts and I couldn't have ANY of it.  I'm now realizing how a lot of foods have dairy in it.  /end pity party of 1

THIS. Giving up dairy would be my BFing nightmare. I don't even know if I COULD give up iced mochas. Isn't that terrible???

I've been looking forward to FFFC because I think I have a totally flame-worthy confession... I love my baby and would do anything for him, but I resent the fact that I have to eliminate dairy from my diet for as long as I'm BFing.  I'm not mad at LO for it, I'm just kind of upset in general.

Seriously....not being able to have dairy may make me consider not breastfeeding for quite as long.

Another one- I have dreams about H cheating on me all the time and I always wake up actually pissed off at him after I have them.

I always have dreams where I cheat on H Sad

To the overwhelmed post - I never read it until late, late last night.  I can totally see why others took her comments personally, but for me my feelings of being overwhelmed were brought on by myself.  New job and moving across the country was all my idea.  But, Kamikaze is now starting to teethe and he has done a complete 180 from my happy, "easy" baby.  Let's wait until the OP's baby starts teething and then maybe she'll be eating her words.

Not sure if this is a FFFC or an UO but whatever.  I read through that whole "overwhelmed moms" post and I seriously don't understand why every freaked the fvck out.

I'll bite.  I didn't think the original post was that bad either.  However, some of her follow-ups were real doozies.

Yeah, me too.  It was fun reading the drama, but I was surprised it went so far!

I love how she mentioned that she has time to go to the gym 3-4 times a week. That was kind of buried in there, but come on. Yeah, she was asking for it.

I was amused when she 'shared the wealth' with us and went through everything that she does.. like we haven't all tried to remain calm and relaxed.

The part where she 'shared the wealth'  was what made me think she was KS. All I could think was that a tool that naive could only be KS with all the "gollys and goshes" edited out. Truth is, if someone writes as much as she does, there is no way I'm reading all of it. I don't care enough.

My FFFC: I just went over the budget for the next two months to see how much I can spend on a special lady for her birthday. (I'm the special lady) T is a student (read that- has no money), and I really want new bikes for us. If I'm going to get what I want I have to make it happen.

Some people are grown ups about their birthdays-Memelou. Happy Birthday!

    Some people are not- Me
