I was on strict bed rest for several months with DD, and I'm worried that I won't know what to do if it happens again (OB says it's a 50/50 chance).
I'm a SAHM and all of the grandparents work full-time, and we've never had her in a daycare or anything like that. I don't even have any ideas of what I would do.
Was anyone here on bed rest with #2? How did you deal?
Re: What if...
Even worse.....I'm on bedrest with #3. But, it is modified. They found I had a "shorter" cervix at 17 weeks.....I have been doing this crap for 5 weeks now.
I am not going to sugar coat things......it has been awful. We have a great sitter, but we can't afford her 24/7. My mom is really the only other person who can help and she is not that reliable. My DH also works 70 hours a week. He has not been home earlier than 9pm this whole night.
It has been more than difficult and beyond stressful. My boys are watching a lot of TV and doing a lot of nothing I cannot wait for this to be over. You do what you have to do. I know I do more than I should, but I have 2 kids to care for and I refuse to neglect them.
I hope you don't have to go on bedrest!
GL!
Just because she hasnt been in day care doesnt mean you couldnt put her in if the situation arose. Even if it was only part time it would give you more time to relax and not worry about caring for a baby.
I am also a SAHM and was having awful cramping. Dr. checked my cervix by u/s and said it looked good, but put me on pelvic rest. No sex, heavy lifting, cleaning...umm my DS is like 25 pounds and I have to clean since he rips through here like a tornado. She told me if I don't stop doing so much I will be on bed rest. I am taking it as easy as I can and resting when he naps, not cleaning! It has helped and I think it has scared me enough to know I need to take care of myself for DS and baby. Our families live an hour away and work and he has never been to daycare either. Not sure what I would do.
