I have another one. I hate when people walk without moving their arms at all. Seriously, you look stupid and how is it possibly comfortable to walk like that?!
I have no idea why I let this annoy me, but one of the annoying paralegals always walks past my office and I swear her arms are completely stationary the whole time she walks. That is not normal.
She looks like a character from The Peanuts cartoons. Haha
lol!!!!! There is a woman who works with me who does the same thing!!! And she walks SUPER slow - it's creepy! This is hilarious lol.
I hate how everyone has a facebook now. When I met my husband he had one and I had never heard of it(I was still in highschool and he was in college). I got one when I was in college and back then it was only for college and highschool students. Now my mom, all my friends moms, MIL, FIL, and even my husbands grandparents all have one. I wouldn't mind it too much if my MIL wouldn't friend request all of MY friends she has never even met and "like" their status all the time. It just creeps us all out. I feel like she's wanting to find out information on me and everyone I know.

That is creepy, and I agree. I got one when I first went to college in 2006 and it was only for college students, you couldn't get one any younger than that. And now like 12 year olds have them. And I obligated to add some - they are cousins, friend's kids, they go to our church, etc. and their statuses are so annoying! I just block them all.
This is more of an unpopular opinion or rant than a confession (though that's what 90% of these posts are), but here goes. I HATE when grown women call their fathers "daddy." I live in the South but am a born and raised Yankee....I hear this so damn often around here, and it drives me nuts.

This is a bit random, but I saw a documentary recently about psychopaths and how they pick their victims.
They look for people who have already been victimized in one way or another- AND they way that they can often tell is by the way the person walks. Specifically how they hold their body and if the swing of their arms matches their leg steps. Usually someone who has suffered a major trauma or who is mentally ill unconsciously will not swing their arms in pace with their legs!
It was so interesting. They showed video of people walking and the psychopath was able to pick out the "victim"- they were almost always right! Anyways- your post just made me think of it.

Huh. Well on the flip side of that, I think it's crappy that wait staff think they are entitled to a 20% plus tip for giving "fair" service. Pretty sure 15% is standard. Now, I personally give 20% for good service, but no one is entitled to that. I worked in food service too. Some people suck at tipping. That's just how it is. But I never felt anything but grateful when I received 20% or more as a tip.
DH and I are going to find out the gender of the baby, but not tell anyone until after the baby shower for completely selfish reasons*.
1) My MIL told everyone our news before I was ready, so this is my way of resuming power and control (I know, this is just a bit pathetic)...As in, "I know something you don't know."
2) I want to avoid the everything pink/blue festival...I'm really over "everything must match the gender of my child"...WHY?!?
*DH is totally free from fault here, because the decision to wait is entirely my idea...and he does not know that I am the secret queen of passive aggressiva.

For the seatbelt thing. We had a family friend who survived an accident and the people on scene said if he had worn it, he wouldn't have lived.. but still I wear mine howeer you just don't know!
Mine.. I work in a grocery store and I judge people on what they buy. Sure its not juicy but its my confession ..also on the same note.. it irks me when children come in with food stamps and buy fried cicken and armsfulls of candy.

this! I only tip 15% depending but there have been times when I left none.. our waiter has went home and the people forgot about us..or we were "that" table when my daugter was a few months old and cried occassionally so they were rude and hardly there.. plus were in our 20s and I worked in food before they assume teens and young folk can't tip anyway so why make the effort.. also I hate tipping for pizza.. I mean they charge 2 dollars to deliver then we have to tip? Yeah im scrooge..

We always tip generously (DH overtips in my opinion), but I have noticed this trend. Granted, I think tipping cultures differ between regions. Here in the North East, 20% is considered standard good service.
I had a waitress come back to our table (me and 3 friends) and confront us about the tip we left her (we left her 20%, and she was extra slow). She then proceeded to accuse us of under tipping. Pulled out the "payment wallet", counted the money, and realized she counted wrong. She grumbled something about the money sticking together, apologized, and walked away. I was going to report her to the manager, but my one friend was already hot about the situation, so we decided to leave. Now, I wished I said something.
BFP: 1/11/11, Large Cystic Hygroma & heart defect, Lost baby on 3/30/11 at 16w 4d.
Since we are on the subject of tipping, I think it's out of control. I'm not talking about restaurant tipping, but the tip jars everywhere. Especially at chain fast food places like Dunkin Donuts. You don't get a tip for shoving a coffee roll and pouring a cup of coffee in a cup. Sorry.

I don't know about other areas in the country, but I am sick of having to tip when I use a bathroom in a restaurant. I can turn on my own faucet and I can get my own paper towel. It used to be in just really high end places, but now it is everywhere.

I agree. We were at a bar a few months ago and it was not a super fancy establishment where you would normally see a restroom attendant...but there she was. I'm not tipping you to hand me a paper towel to dry my hands.

How bold! Don't worry, she won't last long with that attitude.
1 I still call my father Daddy. Only when I'm actually talking to him. And my grandmother called her parents Mama and Daddy until the day they died.
2 My dad refuses to wear a seatbelt. He drove truck when I was little, and he got in two wrecks, in one if he had been wearing his seatbelt it would've killed him.
3 I'm eating chips, and drinking coke. And that's all I've eaten so far today. It's only noon, and I've only been up since 10. But I still feel a little guilty about it.
4 I'm only getting a NT scan so I can have an ultrasound earlier than 18 or 20 weeks.

1. I push my belly out sometimes and rub it too. This is when I feel ubberly bloated and want people to know I'm pregnant not just fat.
2. I think that all abortions should be illegal. Going along with that if it's medically necessary or a miscarriage; then the medical field should rename them to miscarriage and something else. (not spontaneous abortion) In the event of rape, there is always adoption. Someone wants a baby that they can't have.
As you are entitled to yours. I will also voice my opinion. I am 100% pro-Choice and NO ONE has a right to decide what I do with MY BODY. I know of cases where a girl is raped by her relative and NO ONE should go though that and be FORCED to carry a monsters' baby.

- I can't stand when other woman use god and their own judgement to decide what is right and wrong for all woman. In places where abortion is illegal there are severe problems with unclean and unsafe procedure where everyone ends up dying. It doesn't just stop people from getting abortions and giving babies to needy families!!! Worse, there is no after abortion support or medical follow up and the shame alone can kill a woman. If a woman doesn't want to be pregnant she should have to be, especially in cases of incest and rape. To claim that a child who is is molested by her father or brother should have a baby at 13, because "god" has a plain just makes me furious.
- Using the "God" excuse to marginalize any group or to back up opinions is (in my opinion) very ignorant.
AGREED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am pro-life and could honestly not care how others feel (In the sense that I am not judging others). Everyone is entitled to their opinions, choices, actions, etc. Personally, I would not have one myself, but I have known many people that have had one and I respect their decisions and I do not force my opinions on them. One reason I feel the way I feel is because my mother's doctor told her to abort me because they thought I'd have birth defects. The same situation applied to my cousin. I understand EVERY situation is circumstantial, different, and has a different effect on the mother, but I just feel the way I feel based on my own personal experiences in life, my outlook on other things, and my hope for having my own children. If someone else is in a situation where they are in need of an abortion (for whatever reason), so be it. I won't stop them or talk them out of it. While I am pro-life, I disagree with others [not necessarily on the bump, but in general] that go around bashing those that are pro-choice or trying to make it illegal. Making it illegal would take it a bit far... Drinking alcohol can cause many health problems, cause splits in families over a long period of time, and ultimately lead to death, but it is not illegal. It is a choice that each and every person is entitled to make. Everything has risks, but if people want something bad enough, they'll do it anyways. (This is in no way directed towards any single poster at all and I just felt that I could chime in and say that even someone that is pro-life can respect the opinions of one that is pro-choice and be religious at the same time)

sounds like you are pro-choice, just sitting on the side of choosing not to have an abortion yourself. just saying.
I'm positively pro-life, but I am not to the point of judging people for their own opinions. I'm confident in my religion, but I don't judge others for theirs. I have many reasons for believing in pro-life, but will respect the ladies that are pro-choice... if that makes sense.

it makes sense to me. i was just pointing out an issue of semantics and making a point to those that do judge - just because someone is pro-choice doesn't mean that they believe in abortion as a choice the would make for themselves. it jusy means that they respect the choice and situations that others are faced with, like it seems that you do.
like i said before - "pro-choice" doesn't = heartless baby-killing monsters monsters. "pro-choice"= having a CHOICE that you can make based on your own beliefs and feelings. again, not that you feel that way - you have made it clear that you personally don't - but others do.
Very true... for those that feel that way, I'm sorry. They shouldn't (in my opinion), but I can't tell others how to feel. I personally am a little unsettled when I hear someone that does protests for pro-choice and makes the decision to have an abortion, but I will keep my personal feelings and opinions to myself. I do not believe that those that are pro-choice are heartless, baby-killing, monsters. Many of them have very legitimate reasons to go through with it. I can think of reasons to counter their thoughts, but I keep them to myself is all. If I had it my way, all babies would be able to live and mothers would be able to live lives without regrets, pain, and hurt... if that makes sense haha. I guess I should say I'm an "on the fence" Life person? I like playing devil's advocate on controversial issues, but in my heart I have one stance.. and that's where it can stay.

1. I don't worry much about germs. I have friends that cringe at touching change they get from cashiers or use the tongs on a salad bar due to germs. I tend not to worry about things I can't see. That may be stupid, especially with our first baby coming, but I just don't get freaked out about the threat of germs...
2. I feel like by the time I want to respond to posts here, everyone is already done with the thread. I think it has to do with my being on the west coast and checking TB after work.
3. I agree re: tip jars being everywhere. In CA, minimum wage in $9.75 an hour. Why do I also have to tip you for taking my order at Starbucks? If I don't tip, I'm the cheap bastard.
4. I wish we lived close to my parents, not DH's.
5. I cannot stand to hear that people respond to my mom's telling them I'm pregnant by saying "Oh yea, I'm sure her clock was ticking! You can't wait too long..." As if they have any idea why we've decided to get pregnant at this time in our lives.

Totally this. And one of my best friends has OCD and totally freaks out about germs. She gets so upset sometimes when I don't wash something or I use something that she would have scrubbed first. I say "Ehh.. it hasn't killed me yet." I realize that's not the best outlook in the world, but it is what I have.
My confession: My husband is always bugging me for sex and sometimes when I'm too tired but still in the mood I wait until he's asleep and then take care of it myself.
1. I push my belly out sometimes and rub it too. This is when I feel ubberly bloated and want people to know I'm pregnant not just fat.

Well tahrs one way to liven things up around here!!! This is flame free and you are 100% entitled to your opinion. I completely disagree with you and support every womans right to choose 1000% . I'm guessing you were never raped... My best friend was only 17 when a masked man jumped in her car at a stoplight and put a gun to her head. He repeatedly raped her and terrorized her for hours. She is lucky to be alive. That horror will live with her forever. She shouldn't have to (and no one should) be forced to have a monsters baby because "someone could give it a good home"
Actually, yes I was at 3yrs old by twin 15yr olds. Obviously not of an age to become pregnant from it, but it is half the reason I was given up for adoption. It's something I still live with. However, it does not change my opinion. I'm sorry your friend had to go through that. It is hard to live with. I personally STILL go to therapy for my childhood issues and the murder of my sister by a gun.
I'm so sorry you went through that as well. And yes, everyone is definitely entitled to their opinion. Sometimes its hard for me to hear the "someone would desperately want to give that baby a home" when we have thousands of kids in fosterhomes that have no family.
Do you have any idea how how foster to adopt is??? And its all but impossible (in some states) to get a newborn....

Once again, flame free, but I have to agree with Michelle. You're right, rape is an awful thing and I can't imagine ever having to live through something like that. But it's not the baby's fault. And God has a plan for everyone, even that child.
I believe in God... But I also don't believe that God would have wanted her to birth a monster.. FTR she was given the morning after pill which all women get that get a rape kit done...so thankfully she didn't have to go through that horror. Again were going to have to agree to disagree. I wholeheartedly support a womans right to choose..even more so now that I have my own child.
So a product of rape = monster. I have no words for that other than this comment makes me furious and disgusted
I need to explain a few things. I live in Vail. Colorado. A world-renowned ski resort where women don fur coats and diamond rings the size of june bugs. Burberry scarves are commonplace, and it's unlikely that a day will pass when you don't see a Louis Vuitton or two trot down the cobbled (heated) sidewalks. It is absolutely customary and expected that someone tips 20% (the rest of the country, maybe not, but Vail, yes). We live for our tips, it's a town based entirely off the service industry. We make all of our money from December to April, and after that, we just try to make it for the rest of the year. It's almost impossible to work anywhere else but the mountain, a restaurant, or a hotel. 20% is a big deal here--it's expected. And when we have a night where it doesn't work out this way, it hurts everyone. So, last night was a bad night--things are going to be tight this week. You can be as stingy as you want when you tip people, but the restaurant's hourly is next-to-nothing, so this is what we live on for groceries, rent, life. Fortunately, my bf got a "real job" this year, so it's a different scenario now. But still, tipping is a big deal, and that was my thing for this week. The service industry is awful, but we're all just trying to make it.

Hehe, my parents are Mama and Daddy. I'm 28, and I'm southern, y'all.
As you are entitled to yours. I will also voice my opinion. I am 100% pro-Choice and NO ONE has a right to decide what I do with MY BODY. I know of cases where a girl is raped by her relative and NO ONE should go though that and be FORCED to carry a monsters' baby.
(This is in no way directed towards any single poster at all and I just felt that I could chime in and say that even someone that is pro-life can respect the opinions of one that is pro-choice and be religious at the same time)
sounds like you are pro-choice, just sitting on the side of choosing not to have an abortion yourself.
just saying.
it makes sense to me.
i was just pointing out an issue of semantics and making a point to those that do judge - just because someone is pro-choice doesn't mean that they believe in abortion as a choice the would make for themselves. it jusy means that they respect the choice and situations that others are faced with, like it seems that you do.
like i said before - "pro-choice" doesn't = heartless baby-killing monsters monsters. "pro-choice"= having a CHOICE that you can make based on your own beliefs and feelings. again, not that you feel that way - you have made it clear that you personally don't - but others do.
Do you have any idea how how foster to adopt is??? And its all but impossible (in some states) to get a newborn....
