LO and I just recently weaned the nipple shield and lately she's been biting my right nipple every time she's on it (luckily no teeth, but it still hurts like h3ll). I had our NP check the latch and she says it looks great. How do I get her to stop?
If she was use to the shield and now is clamping down on your nipple, she may be adjusting to a faster flow without the shield and trying to stop it. Does she do it through out your session or only in the beginning? You could hand express some into a burp cloth if the flow is too fast. It will improve, as they get older they get better at handling fast flow and will nurse fast! hang in there !
When LO bites it usually makes me yelp which causes him to pull off. Then I very sternly say "No bite." Some girls say they smash their baby into their boob but I'm not a fan of this. Yes it causes the baby to unlatch but that is because the baby can't breathe. Saying "no bite" has worked just fine for us.
Drawing them into your breast helps if they clamp down and don't let go. For us sternly saying "no bite" only made DS laugh at me, which DH thought was hilarious. DS only ever bit me when he was teething, and if I made a big deal of it, he seemed to do it more.

She actually does it more towards the end. Also, my LO is only 2 months, I was hoping the yelp and desperately ripping her off as soon quickly as possible would teach her not to do it, but it's not working yet.
I've had this issue. I think it's because baby gets frustrated as you're not letting down as fast/strong as in the beginning of your session. Try switching sides more often - right, left, right, left.
