Numbness???

Hey girls!  First off, let me say that I am on vacay in Maui. Coming here always makes me realise how lucky we all are that we got married on the islands.  It is such a special place.

Now for the downer, I have been experiencing a numbness in my left outer thigh.  Not a pins and needles numbness inside but more like the dentist needle feeling on the surface of the skin.  At first, I thought maybe I got bitten by a bug and was having a reaction but I have no bite mark and it has lasted 3 days now.  I did some research online and looks like it could be pregnancy related.  Did any of you experience something like this????  Is there a way to relieve the numbness?

 Thanks and Aloha!

Re: Numbness???

  • ME!  Same exact place - my left outer thigh.  Went back to check my blog - started for me around 33 weeks.  At first, I thought I just sat on it funny and it fell asleep, but then a few days later, I realized it never went away.  My MW thought most likely my pelvis shifting pinched something - since I could still walk and all that, we just let it be.  It went away after I gave birth.  It was a little annoying/disconcerting at first, but then I guess I got used to it?  Smile

eta: glad you've having fun in Maui!  it looks gorgeous.

  • I don't have it there, but I get a strange numbness/tingling under my left breast sometimes.  My OB just said it could just be LO sitting on a nerve or something.  It hasn't felt alarming to me or no other pain associated with it and my OB didn't seem so concerned so I guess I'm not either ;)

Glad your having fun in Maui, I miss that place :(

  • Whew, glad Im not the only one.  I was just a bit worried since I am far away from home and didnt want to have to pay to see a doctor here (we have free healthcare in Canada).  I am going to mention it to my doctor when we get back but it is more annoying than anything!
