My cousin is expecting twins and has an almost two-year-old. I'd like to get her something useful aside from cute clothes, which I'm sure everyone will buy for her twins. What is the best gift you received as a MoM? (We live in different states and I have a 2-month-old, so unfortunately going over just to help out isn't an option.)
Re: Best gift for MoMs?
If she's planning to nurse, a twin nursing pillow.
Almost all of us swear by the Double Snap N Go stroller that holds infant seats. That's good for them until 6-9 months (depending on the length of the babies- my girls got squished in it around 7.5/8 months...but I LOVED) it.
She'll need two bouncies, two boppies, and DIAPERS.
I think it's nice that you're getting her something besides clothes. I was BOMBARDED with clothes at my shower...it was crazy.
Thanks for all the great suggestions!
I got an unbelieveable amount of clothes just for one baby (some of which she never even got to wear), so I can't imagine how many clothes she'll get as gifts for her twins.
Ditto pp.
Also, gift cards to restaurants would be great, especially the ones that have curbside pick up or delivery. Cooking didn't resume in my house for a LONG time.
Do you know of any dinner services in her area? If you could arrange to have meals delivered once a week, from say, weeks 6-10 or something like that, that would have been the best gift ever for me. If you can't do that, stuff that I found useful that I would have loved to have received as a shower gift were Aden and Anais swaddling blankets and Ultimate Crib Sheets. I ended up buying those on my own and have been some of my favorite, and most useful items.
Batteries!! AAAs, AAs, Cs, Ds! With all the electric things such as swings, bouncys, crib soothers, monitors, white noise machines, and toys, batteries are an expensive necessity.
Another good one is premade meals. We ate a lot of pizza, and would have loved a little variety.
Absolutely!! We should have bought stock in Duracell. Ugh!
