So back at the end of Jan DD2 had a cough. I took her to the walking clinic and they said it was fine and that if she got worse to bring her back. 2 days later we eneded up in the ER. They said in the ER that she sounded crunchy, they did a chest X-ray and said everything was fine. Here we are again in march and she has a cough again!
She sounds so bad and I am so worried its going to turn into something else. Would you Take her back to the drs? Or would you wait it out until the 15th when she has an APPt again? I mean she sounds soooo bad and she coughs all night and all day and is super cranky and is sleeping a little more than normal. Am I over-reacting? ( im mainly concerned because of her seizures even thought they have nothing to do with this Oh and as far as I can tell she has not been running a fever!)
Re: WWYD?
Is she drinking/eating normally?
My twins just had RSV. They were very cling, tired, and not eating/drinking well. I'd have them swab for that.
I would take her in. I always take my kids to the pedi if it is anything that is changing how they normally act and is making them unhappy. Sleeping being disrupted, cranky, not eating/drinking...things like this. My ds had rdv as an infant and gets a cough all the time. Sometimes the doctor says it si nothing but I still bring him in even if they might say that. Better to just have it checked.
When I took them in, the dr's first thought was pneumonia. She checked their blood-ox levels (which were 93-94% - and that was while screaming). She said if they were under 92%, she'd do the chest x-ray. So then she did the RSV - is a little Q-tip like think they stick in their nose and you'll have the results within a couple minutes. The dr did a Nebulizer treatment that day, and today,10 days later, they are off the Neb, and 100% back to normal.
