Washington Babies

swim diapers

Hey ladies looking at swim diapers on-line. Saw a few different options including re-useable ones. Any experiences? we will primarily be at a public pool and probably playing in a kiddie pool in the backyard too.

Re: swim diapers

  • I've used a combo of regular swim shorts with a disposable swim diaper underneath.  When we did WaterBabies, they required us to use something like the iPlay swim diapers (I'd put the link in, but I'd get banned.  Smile)  Those work pretty good and are sturdy.

  • Some pools require reusable ones (Water Babies does) and some disposables.  We use the Imse-Vimse ones now, but used iplay earlier.  I like the fact that they have snaps so if there actually was a poop incident, the diapers are easy to take off.  They are also easier to put on than the iplay and their size ranges are bigger so you don't have to buy as many diapers (20-26lbs vs 22-25lbs).

Reusable ones are not absorbant and the disposable ones have very limited absorbancy before you get in the water (otherwise kiddo would be waterlogged and weighted down) so you do want to put them on right before you get in the pool and take them off right after you get out else you may get peed on.

  • I like the iplay ones. Just make sure te elastic is snug aroun the waist and the legs. Any gaps an it's useless.
