I'm not sure where to post this, but I assume that most of the people here have kids out of cribs and possibly in toddler beds. We'll be moving DD to a toddler bed this fall when she is a smidge over 2y (her new brother will need the crib). The toddler bed uses a crib sized mattress. I have a ton of crib sheets (the fitted ones), but no flats and no blankets. I've seen a FEW places that sell sets (Overstock, Target), but they are quite expensive. I've heard that you can take a twin set or a full set and cut the sheets in half to make flats, but wasn't sure if that was a good idea (I can sew a bit, but I'm not sure I trust myself to sew in elastic). And what about the blanket/comforter?
Where do you buy toddler sheet sets? And if you sew, is there a good online reference?
Re: Toddler bedding and sheets - where to get? Can you sew them?
Why would you have to sew elastic? Wouldn't you just use your crib sheet and then cut/sew a twin sheet down to size?
Anyway, we moved DD from a crib to a full sized bed, with guard. She has a full sheet set and comforter but on most nights prefers to sleep on her fitted sheet with her favorite blanket. She doesn't often use her top sheet and always prefers a light blanket.
Based on my experience with DD, you would be more than fine with a crib sheet and blanket of any size. If not, you can always spend the money on the set, but I don't think you will need to.
this. You really don't need to buy a set if you already have a fitted crib sheet. You can also buy a fitted sheet and flat sheet by themselves at Target. I got a fitted sheet for like $3 I think. I did buy a bed set from target though for $35. Wal-mart has them as well.
