This is sort of an informal poll. I submitted my maternity leave plan a few weeks ago to my company and they're cool with it. I've told them I plan to work right up to my due date, unless I deliver early, and I'm wondering how many of you were actually able to do that. Did you peter out at the very end and go on ML early? Or were you able to telecommute?
Re: How many of you worked right up until delivery/due date?

I worked right up until I delivered. At 37 weeks I had a meeting with my supervisor and the people who would be covering portions of my portfolio to outline what needed to be done, and from there I did a summary email at the end of each day with the status of my activities. I had DS at 39 weeks.
Hope all is well with you as you enter the home stretch!
I have two more days of teaching this week, then a c-section on Monday!
worked on my due date, the day after, and the day after that, had DD 4 days past her due date on a Sunday
I had a scheduled C/S due to placenta previa with B - so I was able to go at 38 weeks (and worked up to the day before).
This one? Probably going at 39 weeks and unless something happens, working right up to it.
With DD#1, I was working from home part time as a freelance consultant, so that was pretty easy to do up until she decided to arrive, 6 days late.
With DD#2, I started telecommuting the week of my due date...and kept working until she was born, 10 days late...
i worked M-F in the office, sometimes 10-11 hrs/day until i was 39 weeks with tomas. then my boss kicked me out. i worked from home (but didn't really do much work) until 41 weeks. i can't honestly say that i did anything at all that last week (he wasn't born until almost 42 weeks). i REALLY enjoyed being home those last few weeks. i was super uncomfortable and getting dressed for work was the worst part of my day.
i worked 4 days a week in the office and WFH one day a week during my 3rd trimester with audrey. i WFH full time beginning at 37 weeks and didn't really work at all after 40 weeks. she was born at almost 42 weeks, too. i wasn't uncomfortable that time, but i really hated being in the office (but, i also hate my boss/office).
I worked 5 days past my due date. I was due on a Monday the 12th and then made the following Friday the 16th my last day since I was so bored at work and I was tired of people asking me if I was still pregnant.
Physically I was fine, mentally I was going crazy wondering when I was going to go into labor.
I went into labor the Saturday evening the 17th and DS was born early Sunday morning.
It worked out wonderfully (perfect timing DS!). I was worried I was going to be sitting home the following week using up vacation time.

With DS, I was planning to head into the office after a morning dr. appt. but was told to head to the hospital instead.
With DD, I had a Monday induction scheduled but worked the full week before.
As PP said, your brain isn't really with it but may as well not tap into maternity leave if you don't need to do it.
Well, you ladies are certainly a bunch of workaholics! I do want to conserve as much of my PTO and partially paid maternity leave as possible, so I will probably try and work up to my due date unless I'm physically unable to make it into work and telecommute afterwards, just in case. I think I would go crazy just waiting around for labor to start but I would be kind of paranoid about going into labor at work too. Thanks for the input!
Originally, I asked for the week before my due date off (she was due on a Sunday), but during the check up the Thursday before, I was not dilating at all, so I decided to work that week. I then had off starting the day after I was due. I went to the doctor's that day and was slowing losing water. I was induced that Wednesday.
I was completely fine, but definitely didn't take on any long-term or big projects the three weeks before my due date, just in case.
What system do you work for?
