Is there something I can add to our infant carseat for head support?
Lila has the wobbliest head, at least in comparison to Ava and Charlotte, who I guess had better head/neck control as babies. I was actually worried about it, but she has been making great strides in holding it up on her own when she is doing tummy time or is in the Moby. However, when she's on her back rather than her tummy, she still has problems. This is mostly only an issue when she's in her carseat. We just got back from running errands and when I went to get her carseat out I found her with her head slung over downward, which has got to be bad for her neck and also seems like it would inhibit her breathing (really nervewrecking since she always falls asleep in the car).
Re: Head support for infant carseat?
This or a pool noodle under the car seat/base to increase the incline for her until she has more control.
No. Not unless the seat is already installed with an improper incline.
The max recline angle for rear facing is 45 degrees, you can lessen it when she has more control but when she is little and forward head flop is an issue you can recline up to 45 degrees. Also although rolled towel and blankets can help with side head flop it doesn't do much for the forward head flop.

If the car seat is installed with the indicator showing it's installed at the correct angle, then you don't need and should not use a pool noodle.
I've been a CPS Technician for over six years. Pool noodles have their applications, but adjusting the recline on a seat that is already installed at the proper angle is not one of them.
