Ok -- so I  need a little perspective here.  I KNOW Gabe is in the 95th%ile for wt and 75th for ht.  Audrey is 50th across the board. 

At 9 weeks, Gabe was 13pd 14 oz; Audrey was 10pd 14 oz

Right now, (in Carters clothes -- which is the bulk of the wardrobe/or osh kosh)  Audrey is in a 3mo, Gabe pushing out of the 6mo.

good golly....  how fast are they going to grow??  I was shocked to see Gage is in a 3-6mo sweater and he is 7mo.  My perceptions are all warped right now...   the babies arent even 3mo (will be the 20th!) and they have 6 and 9 mo clothes hanging in the closet ready for them....

 Part of this also is b/c Tony keeps insisting on pushing them to the next size the instant the clothes arent loose...  its killing me!!

So my question is --- 

How old is your child, how much do they weigh and what size clothes/diapers are they in?  And if you remember, what sizes were they at 3mo?  Do they slow down their growth at some point?

DD was wearing 3 month clothes when she was 1 month old. 6 - 9 month clothes by the time she was 4 months and even now at 21 months, she wears 3T shirts, and 2T pants. DD has slowed down on weight, but not heigth. However, DD has a playmate the same age as her who still wears 12 month pants. Every kid is different.

I was told that baby sizes are 2 times their age, plus 1. So a 2 month old would be in 5 month clothing (3 - 6 months size).

Evie is almost 8 months old. ?She weighs 15.5 pounds and is in mostly 3-6 month clothes, but it depends on the brand and style. ?She is in the 10th-25th percentile for weight. ?I still worry about whether she eats enough and whether she is gaining enough weight, even though the pediatrician has reassured me several times that she's fine. ?The pediatrician said that it doesn't matter how much she weighs, what matters is whether she is steadily gaining weight. ?Evie has steadily gained along the 10th-25th percentile curve, so she's fine. ?I think it's normal to stress about your baby's weight, especially in the first few months:).

We didn't go to the doctor at 3 months, so I don't know how much she weighed. ?At 2 months, she weighed 9 pounds, and at 4 months, she weighed 11.5.

I *hate* to put her in clothes that are too big, so I never move her up to the next size early. ? She wore a 0-3 month dress for her 5 month pictures. ?The photographer commented that little girls don't usually look so cute in dresses because they're usually too big and baggy. ?I ignore the size on the label and dress her in whatever fits her comfortably.

Wow boy are they growing!! size 3 diapers already!! Cruz has always been about exactly the same size as age.  But around 9 months I have noticed a slow down in growth.

Thanks ladies --  its tough sometimes because they are so far apart on wt and size... when we are out, people are always shocked they are twins b/c of their size differences. ... not to mention gabe being blonde and blue and audrey brown and (brown? eyes)  we still dont know quite what color those eyes will be!

I think my SIL mentioned doubling their age to get their size....  approx.

The size 3 diapers --- when he started sttn he was soaking thru the 1/2  and prob could still wear them until this week... now only in a pinch.  maybe someday we will only have 1 diaper size in the house (the 3s at costco go to 28pds...)

Ben has pretty much always worn the size clothes for his age... Even now, things for teh "right" age fit him or are a little big.  

 

THey totally slow down though... Ben went from 5lb 11oz to 21lb in the first year.  Now he's knockign on 2 years at 26pounds... That's why clothing starts to just go up by 1 year at a time too... it's a crazy curve at the beginning. 

 

Don't worry... they all grow at their own pace.

Gage doesn't normally wear size 3-6!!  It's just that coats and sweaters run pretty big!  The collared onesie I bought on the same day for underneath that sweater is 6-9 months.  It just depends on the piece of clothing!  He's right in between 9 & 12 month Carters clothes though.

Gage is also in size 3 diapers and has been for awhile!  I feel like he's just now thinning out and isn't growing out of everything so fast.

Chunky monkeys aren't bad at all!

oh and no way would i expect to stay in size 3s to 28 pounds!  Ben's 26 pounds and in 4s and I'm sort of thinking he's getting close to needing 5s.

oh I know on the diapers Jill ---  I am sure they wont stay until 28pds, but it would be nice to walk out of costco with one size diaper for twins and 1 size diaper in the diaper bag

Ha, well Mikayla isn't exactly the norm.  She was 11.6lbs when she was born.  We went home from the hospital in a size 3mnths onesie. 

Right now she wears 6mnths clothing for Carter's stuff, but I'm sure will be moving to 9mnths probably within a month.  Interestingly according to the Carter's labels she should be wearing 9mnths, but she fits great in 6 right now.  She's finishing up her last pack of size 2 diapers and we'll be moving to size 3 next.  She seems (to me) to be pretty tall and has a pretty slim upper body but she has chubby little legs, so it depends on the style when I buy clothes other than Carter's - some things she wears a 3-6, others a 6-9, especially in jeans and such.  It does surprise/worry me a little that she's such a big girl, but she's healthy and happy and that's all we really care about.  I keep hearing she's going to slow down sooner or later, but we're still waiting!

Big sigh here...  and reality check on my end!!

I guess with Tony being 6'6" and a good 250 (sorry hun)  and my being 5'8: and an 18 or so these days, these babes dont exactly have small genes.... 

I think I need to help tony (the engineer mind you...) realize that because the label on the clothes says 12 pds does NOT mean you put it away and pull out the next size just because the baby is 12 pds... and just because some 3mo outfits dont fit, doesnt mean you put them all away if some DO fit.  He has such a hard time with this... he is sooooo black and white!)

off to make bottles.... haha!

Hey - at least he helps with taht stuff!  I can't imagine a world where Steve starts putting away clothes that don't fit Ben anymore.

Will is 4 months and in size 3-6 clothes mostly, but he wears a few 6-9 month things and size 2 Huggies diapers. He hasn't been weighed since his two month appt, but then he was 14.5 lbs, and  he feels and looks quite a bit bigger now...I'd guess he's at least 16 something.

4 months, not sure but somewhere aroud 18-20 lbs, diapers size 4 or as big as the BG cloth diapers go, clothes 6-12 month and a few 12-18 month.

At 3 months diapers 4, clothes 6-12 month, and a handful of 6-9 month. They slow down around 8-9 months old.
