Seeing the other post, I just realized the other day I need to get some more laundry soap. I see Dreft is popular for washing kids clothes, but it seems spendy. Do you use a specific kind of soap to wash your LO's clothes or just use the same?
We use All Free and Clear. I don't think Dreft smells very good.
Unable to even.

We use All Free & Clear for our own clothes, and will eventually use it for DDs as well. It was my plan to use it instead of Dreft, because it is so expensive, but then I found Baby All which costs about half what Dreft does, and smells better. Now I just love the smell of her clothes and that's really the only reason I haven't switched her to our detergent.

All Free and Clear. I originally bought Tide for Lily's clothes (because I only wanted the best for my LO! Ugh), and then I realized that I was wasting my money. Especially with all of the laundry I have to do!
I'm a super cheap skate when it comes to detergent, I use Purex. It works great, ounce for ounce the same as Kirkland signature and about (depending on sales at Target) $6 cheaper. Usually I buy the free and clear since both my boys have sensitive skin but last time they were out so I got the All natural one that was scented. I LOOOOOVVVEE it. So far it's not hurting their skin either. 108 loads for around $9.
We will use All Free & Clear because I'm allergic to every other kind of detergent. I don't want to break out just from doing my kids laundry in one of the ones I'm allergic to.
We use Kirkland free and clear for clothes and Rockin' Green for diapers and the occasional load of pet bedding (to eliminate pet smell.) No rashes or irritation with either.
Great question! We already use free and clear types of detergent (I have allergies to perfumes and dyes), so it sounds like we can probably just use that for baby, too.
Can I tack on another question? Do you use fabric softener on your baby/kids clothes?
I can only use liquid softener (allergies) and prefer Snuggle. Do you use softener on your kids' clothes?

We use Bounce Free & Sensitive for DDs clothes. Usually for ours too, but occasionally I'll use the scented Bounce sheets which I use on our sheets and towels. I have sensitive skin which is why I started using free & clear detergent years ago, but the dryer sheets never seemed to affect me.

For our laundry, we use the natural version of Purex or Ecos or whatever is on sale and coupon-able.
Since we CD, we don't use fabric softener. It creates buildup on CDs that ruins the absorbency, and can also do the same thing to your clothes and create a barrier that makes it harder to remove stains. We just use wool dryer balls and the lavender pouches from Trader Joe's instead.
We use Biokleen Free and Clear. But, if you're going to cloth diaper it is not one of the recommended ones for cd's. [but it's the best green detergent I've found so far and I don't cd so I'm fine with that]

Don't bother with Dreft, it's overpriced and not actually good for babies skin (fragrance among other things)
I make my own but I'm told by my sister that not everyone wants do that
but before that I used All Free and Clear
I've been using ALL Free & Clear up until about 2 weeks ago......because I had a coupon for Costco's brand. Dumb A$$ that I am.
I've done about 20 loads of laundry (new baby's clothes) as well as Jackson's - and he has a rash now. Great. Bring on 20 more loads of laundry.

I go between Costcos Free & Clear and the Enviroment stuff, depending on if one is on coupon or not.
Our ped specifically told me not to use the "baby" detergents when M was born, the fragrance isn't good for their skin.

I'm going to make an AWESOME big brother.
We use Charlie's soap for clothes, and Rockin' Green for diapers. I'd like to try making my own one of these days though.
Also, thanks for this post, it reminded me that I'm almost out of detergent!
We use Planet for E's laundry and because we CD.
