Hey! My hubby and I are trying to decide if we want to go with cloth or not. So I was just wondering what the basic instructions are for the cleaning and care of CDs?? Or maybe not instructions but common steps? I have only just started looking into this and so far it does seem pretty easy. Where do you keep the dirty inserts awaiting the washing machine? What kind of detergent? etc
Re: Basic instructions
While exclusively breastfeeding and formula feeding these are the steps..
1. take diaper off baby and throw into a diaper pail that is lined with something (pail liner for example) or a throw in a hanging wet bag.
2. When it fills (usually every other day) take the diaper pail liner out and dump everything into your washer, pail liner too.
3. Do a cold rinse on the largest water setting (we do a double cold rinse for extra poopy loads)
4. The set your washer for a hot wash with 1/4 amount cloth diaper friendly detergent (we use country save powder) and a double cold rinse after to make sure all the detergent is out. Here is a chart of safe detergents: https://www.pinstripesandpolkadots.com/detergentchoices.htm
5. Take clean diapers out and line dry or put in the dryer. It is suggested that diaper covers or pocket shells be lined dried but you can everything else in the dryer.
8. Take out and fold/put away!
When your LO starts eating baby food/solids you will need to scrap, swish, plop dunk etc their poop in the toilet first and then follow the same instructions above. Easy peasy! Hope that helps some
