NCDR are newborns fussy during a growth spurt?

My 8 day old had been nursing like a camel for the past day, and wiggles and fusses ever time he is not on the boob. His stools and diapers are the same, his color and temperature are normal. I am thinking it is a growth spurt. His nursing times have went from about 10-15 minutes a piece to 40 minutes to an hour. Any thoughts?

    Sounds like a growth spurt to me. We have a very easy baby and the only times Ive thought "oh my god this isnt my child" was during her 8 week growth spurt (I think). Lasted 2 days and she just wanted to eat all the time and couldnt be soothed! Good luck :)
