I have a dumb fashion question

So I've finally decided to stop ignoring my wardrobe and have started buying new clothes despite the fact that I haven't lost as much weight as I would like.  

I've been shoe shopping (much to DH's chagrin)  and I am intrigued by the nude pumps trend that is everywhere.  My question is, what do you wear them with?  Do you wear them instead of your black heels (or whatever color you were going to wear)?  I totally understand that they make your legs look super long, but I'm just having trouble imagining them in an outfit.

This is probably a trend I will pass on because I don't really get it either.  I consider myself somewhat fashionable but I like to stick to trends I feel comfortable with?if I feel strange wearing something, I think it shows.  Am I making sense?

And I tend to think matching your shoe color to your pant color makes you look taller.

There isn't a lot you can't wear them with.  Brown, black, and color are all fair game.  What I like most about them is that they go with everything!  I'm especially excited about wearing them with spring outfits bc my spring clothes tend to have a lot of pastels or brights and I hate white shoes.  These are a nice alternative.  You can wear them the same way you wear metallics--don't have to be wearing anything silver or gold to wear silver or gold shoes.

Yes, I think I want a pair too.  However, I just bought 2 pairs of new heels (black patent and red) and I can't find a pair of nudes that I like that aren't the exact same style as the others.  I like diversity.

Exactly this. If only I could afford a pair of Louboutin. Alas, I'll probably settle for Nine West or Aldo.

Actually, I exchanged the black patent for the taupe. I bought a different pair of black patent pumps at DSW yesterday.  The taupe looked good with the brown pants I have on today, so I'm guessing they will be pretty versatile.
