So it's almost that time...

Hi ladies! The girls are growing like weeds and doing something new almost everyday! The doctors have told us that we are getting closer to being able to introduce the girls to the outside world. I still don't plan on going to many places until mid-April. I guess because the only place we go is to the doctor I'm honestly not sure how to "take them out". Of course we have a stroller, moby, and other slings but what is the best way to say take twins to Publix? Or out to eat? Any advice is great appreciated! TIA!

  • I can say this....I was very nervous to take the boys out on my own.  My parents helped the first few times just so I could get the hang of it, and then I really felt like I could go anywhere.  Now it's a bit harder b/c they are no longer in infant seats and we can't use the DSNG, but it's still doable.  We have only taken them with us to a restaurant one time and that was with my parents coming along.  It went well, but I don't think we will be doing that again until they can eat more table food.  GL!

  • I just recently took all 3 out with me.  Before that, I would go out with just the twins while my MIL had my oldest.  She is 21 months old and I dont really trust her in a parking lot when I dont have a free hand.  I had a baby carrier so I put one baby in that, the other baby stayed in her carseat and my oldest was in the front of the cart.  It worked out really well.  I am at a loss for what i will do when they dont fit in thier carseats anymore.

  • when i first starting going out when the twins came come i normally would either carry one and put my toddler in the stroller with the other twin or i would put all three in the stroller. the twins would share a seat and my toddler would have the other.  that was great for shopping in the grocery store.  i would cover the twins with a blanket so no one would know i have twins or touch them.  good luck and congrats.

  • Mine are still in infant car seats with the double stroller so it's fairly easy. You get better at it every time you go out. I try to make sure both are well fed and changed. My guys like sleeping in their car seats so being well napped isn't an issue for us. If we go out to eat (we've only done it twice) we try to bring toys to keep them occupied, extra bottles. If they get super crusty at a restaurant we would most likely just ask for take-home boxes and be on our way.
