Anyone else just pumping? DS is tongue tied and can't nurse properly so I'm pumping. Just wondering if anyone had any good tips for getting me supply up.
I've had the same problem from the start. Now I am able to nurse with a nipple shield on and I can pump what was not eaten on that breast for storage. My supply has definitely gone up after just two days of doing this, even tho baby doesnt eat any more than before. She also tends to sleep more with her breastmilk (I was supplementing before because I didnt have a pump at first) so that might play a factor in how fast my breasts fill up.
I pump and FF feed since my supply wasnt enough to satisfy him. I have since started taking Nature's milk drops and then will put LO to the breast with a nipple shield a couple times a day. I read that the sucking motions of baby will stimulate your nipples better than a pump. This morning I woke up totally engorged and I was able to pump 7oz total!
I pump until there is very little left in there. That triggers the body to start producing again and if you do this everything 2-3 hours then it should get your supply going. Also drink lots of fluids. As much as if you were still PG.

I was an exclusive pumping and I pumped every 3 hours for 20 minutes. This definitely got my supply way up.
It's pretty exhausting, which is why I am now starting the process of "drying up." I have such a supply in the freezer that I think I'll be good to go through the month of March which gives my LO 2 months of exclusive breast milk feedings.
I am an exclusive pumper. Baby girl and I really struggled and stressed out too much in the first 2 weeks and I couldn't handle the pain. I find that using my medela in style double saves my life and time! I also recommend using lanolin to get a good suction and save your boobies from rugburn. it gets easier!
