My LO is just about 7 months old. My own family doctor told me that I should not be feeding her at night anymore. I have nursed on demand since we brought LO home. We sleep trained at 6 months and LO is now STTN but I still nurse once a night most nights of the week. It doens't bother me at all since nursing her quickly once after she sleeps for about 7 hours beats waking with her hourly which is what we were having to do up until 6 months old.
Who else is still nursing at night? I didn't feel that I was doing anything "wrong" but my doctor seems to think I am setting her and myself up for failure.
Re: Night feedings for 7 month old
Little Rose is 2 1/2.
I still nurse Daniel once during the night at 3 or 4 am. I've even gotten him if he doesn't wake up first. My doctor just said he should be able to make it through the night but I'm honestly not ready to try it. I also think he would wake up even earlier in the am and I would rather get up for half an hour at 4 than start the day even earlier!
My doctor did not imply that we were doomed for failure and I don't see why we would be. I feel like since he eats a lot at that time, he needs it. When he was getting up 2x he was just snacking so I knew it was time to drop one of them. He was also really tired all day. I think I'll know when it's time for this one too.
