Help with gift for friend returning to China (NBR)

So, I have a friend who is Chinese and recently completed her master's degree at a local university.  She has decided to return to China in April.  I'd like to buy her a goodbye gift....but I am stumped as to what I should I get her.

She volunteered at the agency I worked for and although we've spent time together I honestly don't have a clue where to start.  Ideas?
