So livid. Testing center has now made the same mistake twice!!

Back story : Last week I went to the doctors office and had a high BP reading initially, but it eventually went down during the visit to a normal reading. My doctor wanted me to make sure everything was fine so she ordered a 24 hour urine test. 

Enter Quest Diagnostics into the picture. I went to one of their offices, handed them the doctors orders, they hand me a container and tell me no instructions whatsoever. Thankfully I had done the test before so I knew what to do and just did the same thing. You have to throw out your first morning urine, and then refrigerate the container the whole time your collecting your urine, and the next day morning urine is added and you have to start and end the test at the same time. Nobody told me any of this, but I knew it so I just did it. I had to wait till the next day to start collecting after morning urine. So Thursday I start the test, do it for 24 hour and on Friday I go to hand in the sample. Lady at the front desk tells me "Oh sorry, we gave you the wrong container. This one releases some chemical that would ruin the results. You have to do it again."

I was irritated and asked how they didn't realize this before and lady says, "Oh this one girl messes up all the time. Sorry. Oh and we don't have the proper container at this location so you have to go to this other location (20 minutes away from my house) to get the right container because they're the only ones open on Saturday." 

So I go Saturday to the other office, tell them how the other office mixed up and how I need the right container and all. They give me the container and I go on my merry way.

So I collected all day Sunday and then ended the test today and went to drop off the container at the new location to try and avoid the incompetence of the last office all together. After I drop it off and drive off I get a call from the lady at the office, "Oh sorry, the lady on Saturday gave you the wrong container. She gave you one with a chemical that would ruin the test, she mixes up all the time".

I about lost it. I was so livid! I have been freakin collecting my urine for so long, and I am worried sick about having protein in my urine, and because of these peoples complete incompetence I now have to do the test a THIRD time, and now have to wait even longer to find out if something is wrong. 

Words fail me. I just can't even believe how incompetent these people are. TWO different offices made the same mistake. How are these people still employed??Just needed to vent. I am still fuming.

I would be so pissed and give them an ear-full if I were you! Ridiculous!

Glad to know how competent Quest is!  That is where I got sent for a pre-job drug screening in college!  Wonder if those are accurate at all...  At least I got the job!

MH had to go to Quest diagnostics to get a drug test for a new job and he had a ton of complaints too. He said it looked like they were operating out of an abandoned building, it didn't even have running water for him to wash his hands after providing his sample!

I would be really pissed- it sucks that there is nothing they can even do to make it right.  I would be complaining to someone for sure!
