im having a hard time picking a girl name if we have a girl i wanted angelina but our friends lost there baby a few months ago she was stillborn and they named her that... so im playing around with names my mother in law is named marianna and my mom is angela i took the (mari) from marianna and (ela) from angela and came up with mariela. do you guys like mariela for a girl?? technically in our culture the first born goes after the grooms parents but i dont want to do that its both of there first grandchild and think this is fair. I think Mariela is cute!  Would you pronounce it Mar-e-Ella? That's how I picture it when reading it. Very pretty.

Very creative and I really like Mariela! That's gorgeous. So different, yet so beautiful. It suits a child and an adult which is a huge plus. Great job. I really, really like that. I'm going to throw in a middle name I think sounds great, too!

However, I would spell it Mariella if that's how it's pronounced.

I like it. I also work with a lady named Mariela and she is the sweetest lady. 

There is no way I would name my baby after my MIL so I think mariela is a nice compromise.

Reminds me of my friends name Mariel.  I love Mariella I think it is a great way to bring both names together.  your lucky both names came out to such a cute name!!!!!

I like Mariela and think it's a more than fair compromise.  Besides, your MIL still get's the more "signigicant" part of the name anyway while still honoring your mom as well.

Side note, I like Mariela better than Angelina.

This is SILs name and I love it.  Mariela Ann and she goes by Mari.  I think it's a beautiful name!
