My mother, MIL and best friend are planning my baby shower for April 3rd. Well I found that when I started compiling my registry I am used it to keep track of things that I wanted to buy... which then I started buying stuff off of it. So like 6 items that are purchased was purchased by myself! LOL.... and my Mother is yelling at me to stop buying things off of it becasue no one will have anything to buy me for my shower. Anyone else buying things off their registry? Amazon is evil... well not really. They email me when things that are on my baby registry are on sale and I jump on it... So it is Amazon marketing strategies fault! LOL

My mom has been yelling at me about leaving my registry alone, too. I keep wanting to start ordering stuff, but since I didn't put much on it to begin with, she keeps telling me to leave everything so I have a variety of price points up for people to choose from.
*Sigh* FINE! Haha.
Been away from theBump for a while, getting active again for all the good advice
My mother and I have bought things from the registry, but we're the only ones. My mom bought a crib a changing table, and I bought a breastpump and some other small things.
I'm not even sure I'll be having a shower since both our families are 12 hours away, and my friends are spread out too. Also I was recently laid off so wouldn't really want my old coworkers there...lol. I do have some local friends, and one has been asking about planning a shower, but I feel too bad inviting just my friends to buy things. Our families will most likely send money since that is what they did for our wedding.
I think I'll pass on the shower, hopefully I don't regret it.
I also used my registry to track things I planned on purchasing myself, so that I could watch sales. I finally added a bunch of "shower gifts" to my Target registry last night.
Most of the big ticket items have been purchased or gifted, it seemed so silly to register for bibs, blankets, diapers, wipes and rattles. But that is pretty much all I need. And I know people will just look at the registry for an idea, and buy whatever they like.
Don't fret. There will be LOTS for people to buy. :-) But do try to keep a couple of big ticket items on there for those who like to go in on a big gift.
LOL...I've purchased several items from my registry. However, my items were purchased from Amazon so I can return them for free if someone else decides to buy them (yes I left them on the registry...just in case).
My shower seems like eons away (May 7th) so when I see sale items and I have a coupon its just hard to resist.
