We said we weren't going to name him until birth, though we'd pretty much decided and now DH decided he wants to make a firm decision so we can start calling him by his name.  I couldn't agree more with not wanting to call the baby "baby", "she", "her", etc.  What DH didn't realize is that ever since we were 90% certain of our name I've been calling him that myself!

Cute!  I like that even though it's different, it's still spelled grammatically correct and doesn't sound "weird."  Delaney is a great name and Laney is a super cute NN if you decide to go with one.
