Had some light pink spotting yesterday and went to the doctor to check it out. Major relief that baby is doing well, ultrasound came out normal. When I was examined that afternoon, the blood was then brown, "old blood." The doctor told me to have 48 hours bed rest (don't have to stay in bed, but just at home- no work) after the bleeding stopped. She said they can't tell what it was from, but that I would have to lead a more stress-free lifestyle. Anyone else have this happen to them? What did your doc say?
Re: Light spotting, week 24
I have had this happen throughout my pregnancy. They can't tell me where it is coming from, nor why. It seems to come out of nowhere and then takes awhile to disappear. Then it won't happen for awhile, and then it will show up again. I saw a perinatologist a few times to make sure my cervix wasn't shortening (it isn't...sounds like yours is normal, too), and he told me that sometimes this just happens and they can't really give you a concrete cause.
No one suggested to me that I was too stressed, though, but if your doctor told you to take it easy, I would.
I know it is scary (and annoying), so I hope it lets up for you!
