Looking for trike recs

Hoping that spring is on its way I am starting to think about getting a 3 stage trike for DS. 

Do you have anything similar for your LOs?  Here are two that I am looking at, but I am open to suggestions.

they both look great, but I would be skeptical about how much sun those shades actually block. other than that, they look great.

we just have this simple tricycle for our son. he loooooves it and we have no complaints.

what she said.  the sun shades do nothing.  i was going to get a kettler, and then i got a hold of myself.

DS first started using them at the open gym in the county rec center last winter (at 20ish months old).  They are really sturdy (they get used every day by tons of kids for multiple school years in a row and aren't falling apart) and, despite being short, he has always been able to reach the pedals.  The handle is wide and it makes it easy to steer if you're pushing.  Big kids fit on them too, as the seat is adjustable.

We have one of these, that we got at a consignment sale late last summer.  DS loves it, and he too is on the short side.  Can't wait for spring!!

We got the same one off of Freecycle and it is really sturdy despite being used and abused by another family.

We got the radio flyer one for Maggie too and she loves it.  It will be passed on to Molly this summer and Maggie will probably get a bike.

Thanks ladies!  I know I have a tendancy to be drawn to fancy things...I am glad that I have practical Mommies that I can turn to that will help me to be reasonable. lol   My DH & our bank account also thank you!

I am going to keep an eye out on craigslist and a couple of spring consignment sales for your reccomendations.
