Pregnant after a Loss

Anyone only get MS at night?

I never had any kind of morning sickness with my son, so this is all new to me.  On Saturday night I woke up around 1:30 and was so nauseaus that I just wished I could throw up, and last night around 9:30 I was dry heaving in the bathroom and sitting in my bed with a plastic bagging near me as I tried to go to sleep.  Anyone else experience this mostly at night?

Re: Anyone only get MS at night?

  • I didn't have any MS with DD or the two m/cs, but with this pregnancy, I have been getting ill (not puking sick, but just a really upset stomach...) every afternoon after lunch, and then the same after supper. At least it happens to coincide with naptime, so I can nap also. :)

  • Mine's always worse at night.  My body "gears up" to it during the day and by evening, it would always be the worst.  Half the time, I'd wake up in the morning feeling totally fine until I ate or drank something.  Then, the sickness would start, though it'd be mild compared to what would come on later.  I think some people just have it worse at night.  I always figured it was because I'm a night owl and my body doesn't really wake up and get going until close to afternoon, regardless of the time I wake up.

  • During 1st tri, I would feel nauseous all day. But it was the worst at night. I was pretty much guaranteed to throw up every night for 11 weeks.

  • Yep. The mornings I felt great. The afternoon/nightimes I felt like crap.

The earliest I ever got sick was 11a (at 17 weeks!)

  • I feel it on and off all day, but very mild. Usually it hits me the worst after 5 and if it's really bad I feel like total crap around 9.

  • My m/s doesn't sound as bad as yours, but I do get it more frequently at night. While I know a lot of people say they get it if they haven't eaten, I'm the opposite. I always feel a bit ill after a meal. I think it's different for everyone. If it gets to be a real problem, your ob might be able to recommend something for you.

  • Yep, I've been having nausea starting around 3:30 everyday for a few weeks now.  It pretty much ruins my appetite for dinner and then disappears.  Lucikly I haven't gotten physically sick yet but the nausea alone sucks enough.  Hope you get through it soon!

This exactly.  I can't count on one hand the number of dinners I kept down weeks 6-15.

  • I don't only get the nausea at night, but its definitely worse then.

  • My m/s has been worse at night with all of my pregnancies. As I get further along, I think it's due to acid.

  • I used to get it morning and night depending.  Now that I am further along I tend to get it at night.  The longest I've gone is 2 weeks without puking.  I keep telling myself that will be the last time, but so far no such luck.  It sucks, but it will all be worth it in the end.
