Our LOs are the same age (dec 28?) and she started consistently and socially smiling up a storm last week. Now she smiles all the time, and I always want to melt she smiles, even if she wakes up after 30 mins lol. I should add, she started smiling non stop out of no where, it wasn't a progressive some smiles here and there and then it increased. Soo your LO might soon start to smile, just keep on smiling with him!! And also pay attention when he wakes up and is stretching, LO is always smiling then haha

I think every baby is different. My DD has been smiling since very early on and now giggles when you talk to her, but my mom said she started doing that quickly and most babies don't smile so soon. I wouldn't worry about it, but I know you're probably anxious...I would be too.
We just started getting some smiles...at first, it was more like a "half" smile, but I think they're more like real smiles now. Sometimes, it almost seems like we're getting a giggle.
