How long do stitches take to heal?

I had my baby 3 weeks ago, and I had some tearing. I have the kind of stitches that dissolve on their own, but I can still feel them and I'm still pretty sore at times. Anybody know when they felt normal again?

I had my follow up appointment at 4 weeks 3 days and the Dr. said they were all dissolved at that point.

I saw my doc for my 6 week follow up and one area hadn't dissolved yet, it was where the knot was.  It's since dissolved.

We had sex a 4 week PP (yeah, yeah too soon- we know)  I still had my stitches then,  DH could feel them.  Now at 6 weeks they feel almost gone (during sex) they are internal so we can't see.
