Which bottles do you prefer???

Trying to decide on what brand of bottles to stock up on. I really like the playtex airvent advance but my LO is drinking between 4 and 6 ounces and when I make 6 ounces and include the powdered formula it doesnt really fit. I want something that will reduce gas, spit up, air, nipple doesnt collapse, ect and has nipples sold seperatly so when he starts the fast flow all I have to do is buy new nipples.

Re: Which bottles do you prefer???

  • Hi,

Those are actually the bottles I use ocassionaly when I pump my milk and they seem to work quite well.  I don't use formula, so unfortunately I'm not sure about that but I've read good things about Dr. Brown bottles I think they are called-supposed to work well for preventing gas.

  • All 3 of my children love/loved Soothie bottles. I don't know why, they just do/did. LO now is okay with Medela bottles, but she definitely prefers the Soothies. They sell nipples separately so you can upgrade the flow when you need.

  • The Playtex Ventaires and the Drop-ins are the winner in this house.  We are still in the 4 oz phase but once he goes to fewer bottles we will do drop-ins only with the expandable bags.  We find he burps easier and less gas with the playtex bottles with the drop-ins being.  We tried tons of bottles with DD and DS and both times they were the overall winner.

  • i use the playtex airvent advance and i love them, it really seems to help with the gas and she had it pretty bad before i this brand

she is starting to take about 6oz and yeah its weird to mix the power in the 8oz bottles, dosent fit too well so i started to make formula for the day in a pitcher and leave it in the fridge and just pour it in to 6oz

thats working well for me anyway :)

  • Dr. Brown bottles are the best in my opinion. Tommee Tippee are good too but for some reason the nipple seems to collapse and also the slowest nipple still drain really fast. Hope this helps!

We use Tommee Tippee and at first had a problem with the nipple collapsing. I found out that it was because the vent was stuck shut. When they are brand new, the silicone sticks, so when we wash them for the first time you need to rub the vent with two fingers to open it up. Since I discovered that trick, we have had zero problems.
