Probably TMI...but, question about bleeding

So DH and I had sex for the first time last night since Charlotte was born. (He's been a very patient man.) Anyway, is it common to bleed after your first postpartum sex?

      I had bleeding off and on until about 6 weeks PP. We had sex at 6 weeks PP, and I didn't have any bleeding, but it seems like it could definitely happen. You had your 6 week PP checkup and everything was fine, right? I think if you had stitches that didn't heal properly the doctor would have noticed then.
