I have had the distinct pleasure of receiving an emergent cerclage late Thursday night after my internal ultrasound findings at my anatomy scan showed my cervix had shortened again and had started funneling. I literally went straight from my doctors office to the hospital. Good times.

I am so thankful I am seeing an MFM as this could have been missed, and had I gone another week or so I would most likely have been unable to receive the cerclage and who knows what would have happened. It's less then 2 weeks for me to get to the point where my water broke last time.

Surgery went very well and recovery has been fine, just some overall soreness, mostly I think from sleeping like crap in the hospital bed. My throat is sore from the breathing tube (they did it under general aneasthesia) and so is my upper lip, but that has been the worst of it, I had some slight spotting, and now that has tapered off to just brown. I am on bed rest until tomorrow.

Hopefully this keeps the wee man in there for at least 20 more weeks. Please.
