They are basically the same, kind of like if you prefer Coke or Pepsi. If you travel a lot, the Alimentum has small cans- 8 oz. that are easier to travel with. As far as I know, you have to take a cooler with you for the Nutramigen. But then again, I am talking the RTF, so if you are doing powder, this wouldn't matter. HTH.
And FYI- Gripe water worked wonders for us as far as gas goes.

We tried malicon, grape water, now we are on doctor prescribed pepcid. Nothing helps. I am starting to wonder if something is not right with the GI track...
DD has been having really bad issues with gas and her tummy - she always seems gassy and in pain and is a total fussbucket because of it. We had her on Enfamil Newborn (previously tried both Gentlease and Similac Sensitive and neither helped; Enfamil Newborn was the least offensive for her).
We used Mylicon at every meal and gripe water (Colic Calm brand) daily. They helped but not entirely. We finally switched to Enfamil Nutramigen at our pedi's suggestion and it's made a huge difference. Like, she doesn't have gas anymore (and we haven't used Mylicon or gripe in a few days). She's becoming a different, happier baby and she's only been on Nutramigen since Thursday night. The only issue is that she hates the taste of it (we call it her broccoli, lol). A couple feedings each day are like World War III. But she's generally much happier and has no belly issues anymore.
