Babies: 0 - 3 Months

meet and greet ?

So my bf is throwing me/baby a meet and greet party on the 12 of march. She texted me yesterday to ask where I was registered / what we still needed. It's my second baby and yes a different gender but I still feel like "asking" for presents isn't cool. Especially since a lot of people have stopped by already with little clothing gifts for dd.

So my thinking is that she should put something on the invitations along the lines of "while gifts are always appreciated but not needed, a donation for the local food bank would be greatly welcomed in order to help other young moms and families"

But I don't know. Does any one have any suggestions of what could be put and is considered pc?

TIA

Re: meet and greet ?

  • I think the donation idea would be wonderful, but I would definitely word it a little differently on any invitations. Either you want presents or you don't, but you shouldn't put the option out there because then anyone who doesn't bring a gift might feel awkward, ya know?

If anything, I would ONLY mention that a donation to the local women's shelter or food bank would be appreciated in lieu of gifts for you & baby.

  • What about "instead of presents, Jordyn would appreciate you bring a donation for the local women's shelter/ food bank in order to help other young families" WDYT?

    I think that sounds great!
