How long did your OB's tell you to wait to take your first bath? I am 10 days post partum and my OB said I could safely take a bath today and that I would also have to remove the vertical pieces of tape that are going across my incision. I'm slightly nervous about this part! Just curious what the instructions were for other ladies. Thanks!
i have the vertical steri-strips on my incision and my doctor told me that they will fall off on their own and to not take them off myself. i didnt ask my doctor about taking a bath and she didnt mention it either but i personally wouldnt take the strips off myself

I never specifically asked about taking a bath since I pretty much only take showers. I can't imagine that it's much different though - wet is wet, right?
OB told me to pat dry and use a hairdryer on a cool setting to completely dry it after I shower. I've been doing that and have had no problems.
I am two weeks PP and the Dr. Said I could start working the strips off in the shower. I would love a bath but I want to wait and see how the incision feels without the strips before I soak in a tub.
I had a dr appointment 10 days post op. My strips were still on, and the dr took them off. I asked about taking a bath and she said it was fine. Enjoy!
I didnt take a bath until 4 weeks after c- section and DONT remove the tape just trim the ends every other day when they start to curl up. Eventually when theres hardly anything left u can remove them.
I'm not sure about the bath. If your doctor said it's ok I'd go with that.
At my 2 week appointment the doctor checked the incision and took off one of the steristrips to check it. He was happy with it and told me to take the rest of the strips off in the shower----he said that would be less painful than if he took them off there. I took a long shower and pulled them off at the end. Several came off together and it really didn't hurt much at all (I really think that them being wet really helped with that). At the hospital they had told me that they would come off on their own and if they hadn't by 10 days I could take them off, but the nurses at my dr's office told me to wait until my appointment (when I called with another question).
My OB actually took my strips off 9 days after....didn't tell me she was going to do it and it totally caught me off guard but it didn't hurt. They were starting to fall off anyways.
