Congested LO

My poor LO has his first cold.  I had a bit of a runny nose a few days ago and DH is really stuffy now.  LO is so congested that he sounds like a warthog when he gets super excited or cries.  We've been using the saline drops and aspirator as often as we can and also have a humidifier going in his room.  We also have his mattress inclined already because he has reflux, so that should help a little, too.  He's been fidgeting in there for a little while, but doesn't seem uncomfortable and he hasn't fussed or cried, so I'm hoping he goes back to sleep.  Any ideas or suggestions for helping him to breathe a little better?

I would take him to the pedi and see of you could get a nebulizer and breathing treatments.  That helps my LO.  He uses a brand of levalbuterol breathing treatment.   My LO had his first cold at 7 weeks old.

My LO is 6 weeks old tomorrow and she has a cold also. She also has a really bad cough which we all have because my son got sick with a cold and has a cough also. I have the humidifier going and I will be using the saline drops when she gets up and I will call the pedi tomorrow. I feel so so bad for her. And I have to start back work tomorrow. What is a momma to do?

Us, too. The Nosefrieda works much better for me than the bulb syringe, but LO still hates it. We've been doing steamy bathroom time with him, saline, sleeping upright, etc. Poor baby!

Run the hot water in the shower and close the door. The steam helped our LO clear up right away, but hers was due to dry weather, not a cold. Could be worth a shot.

DD currently has rsv/bronchiolitis and the steam from hot showers as well as going outside for a few minutes a day really helps clear up the congestion on top of what youre already doing.
