Anyone taking DHEA? and low AMH.

What do you take?  Was it recommended by your RE?  I'm considering taking it since I have low AMH.  Wondering if any one with low AMH has seen results from taking DHEA?

I am old, have elevated FSH, and low-ish AMH (all in sig), and take 25mg 3x/day and do not take it when cycling.

This is one sup that you should definitely take with your RE's recommendation. DHEA is an androgen/steroid hormone, and your RE will have their own take on if, how, and when to take it.

I'm sure that you've done research, but I found this article helpful.

I have a very low AMH (in siggy), and like the pp I take 25mg three times daily.  I agree that you should only take under the recommendation of you RE. 

I have seen positive results, my cycle is more regular.  Before I started taking DHEA I ovulated around day 10 of my cycle and now I ovulate around day 14 (per my CBEFM).

I take 25mg 3x per day. I do not have low AMH and I am a good responder. However my RE suggested I go on it to possibly increase the quality of my eggs. I have been on it for 2 months now and notice no side effects-good or bad. You might want to try posting on PAIF to ask about success with regard to getting pregnant with the help of it. Good luck!

s/o side effects. hair loss and acne is common. I have a slot of shedding, which stops when I discontinue the sups.

I have found if you take the suspended release DHEA there are less side effects,

Thanks everyone.  I will ask my RE if it would be something that he would want me to take if this cycle doesn't work.

My AMH was 1.25 & I too have been taking it for this upcoming IVF cycle per my RE's request. I take 25mg 3x's daily & the only s/e I have had is shedding of hair & some slight acne.

This may be coming to you a bit late, but I will be having my AMH tested today, should know the value in a few days. 

However, my FSH was really high before 4 months on DHEA at ~15 routinely.  After, I'm at ~5!!!

AMH is in --- still 0.1 --- BOOOO!!!!

But, the FSH improvment is atleast a little settling.

Hello,

I just started taking DHEA and am going to go see the Dr's in NYC this weekCHR who highly believe in DHEA.   I am seeing an RE now and am in the process of doing my first IUI on Follistum. I had mentioned DHEA to him but he dosent wanna hear it.  Oh well I dont have to tell him that I started it.  

 I have read nothing but good things about it, and am going to drill the doctor at CHR next week about it.  If I choose to do IVF I will use this doctor in NYC as they seem to be very knowledgable and open minded with older girls..

If you have any questions let me know I will add it to my list of many....

OK, so no improvement on my AMH but like I said before it did help my FSH and I have my second beta tomorrow....fingers crossed!!!
