3 week growth spurt?

LO will be 3 weeks tomorrow and has been going through a growth spurt the past couple of days. holy hell does it suck! i BF and supplement a couple times of day with formula still for his jaundice (which is getting way better) and i must say BF'ing through a growth spurt is just hell. LO was on a every 3 hour schedule and was pretty good on it then all of a sudden hell broke loose and he is eating every 1 1/2 hours. 

my left boob is killing me from him nursing so much but i am doing the best i can. the thing that bothers me most is that after he is done nursing he will only fall asleep on my boob (like head resting on my boob) and if you attempt to put him down he screams instantly and wont sleep. you can tell he is tired but i need to consume food and use the bathroom once in awhile LO.

anyone else going through this?

Yep! DS is the same age (3 weeks today) and the past couple of days have been the same for us. He's sleeping less and eating more, which makes getting anything else done quite difficult. There were a few nights when he would eat and then be fussy/awake for two hours before he'd sleep again and then be up within the hour to eat. I was crying just as much as he was! But then last night he went for 3-4 hour stretches and fell right asleep after each feeding. Go figure... I just have the mindset of "this too shall pass." Good luck!

omgoodness...I feel your pain!!!!
My LO is only 16 days old and all this past week has been consuming like crazy. Every 1.5 hours except from about 2:3a-8a he only wakes once to feed. I am in so much pain and seriously my body couldn't keep up. He would fall asleep in my arms and then I'd go to lay him down and 5 minutes later he was up again. The stress and frustration has worn me out. I am tired, lonely, and hungry. I was kind of smelly but I luckily snuck a quick shower in. haha

I feel like a failure, but it caused me to give up BF. I went back and forth with it, but I have been feeling much better the past couple days with mostly just giving formula and only pumping a little and giving it to him. I really wanted to BF for at least the first 3 months but I guess its just not as easy for everyone.
