AHHH!! MAKE IT STOP!

So it was warm (well, warmer than it has been, around 60) before the kids took a nap. Dh told them I would take them out when I got home from work.  When I got home at 3:30 it was super windy and has cooled down quiet a bit.  Too cold to go out and play.  Kaydance has been repeating "I WANT TO GO OUTSIDE" and screaming for the last hour.  She has been in time out, missed snack, and I tried getting her involved in a game L and Kennedy are playing.  All she did was knock it off the table.  She is now in her room screaming bloody murder and yelling that she wants to go outside.  Im now going to leave her in her room until she calms down.  I told her she can go out once she stops screaming and crying.  But, she is stubborn and that may be a while.  Our walls are paper thin so its almost like she is screaming right in my ear even though she is upstairs.

OMG Im about to run away.  They are seriously tired of being cooped up but its too cold to go out.  :(

  • I would just bundle them up and send them out. They'll either love it or come back in because they're cold.
  • 60 sounds heavenly right about now!

How come your husband told them you would take them out when you got home, rather then take them out himself?

I was wondering the same thing. I'd tell him that since he promised that they could go outside, that he got to be the one to deal with the temper tantrum and he would be the one taking them outside.

  • Kyle asks everyday if it is summer yet!  He is dying to play outside.  60 sounds great, it is about 20 here today.
  • Why didn't he take them out?

My kids get bundled up and we go out, pretty much whatever temp. We went to the farm park a few times in the last month when it was about 12-15 degrees.

60 would be 'no coat' weather for us.

  • Yeah, we definitely don't wear coats at 60. Hell, Ethan was outside in shorts last week at 60.

I thought it was supposed to be warmer today than it was. We had already gotten dressed in pants and fleece jackets to realize it was only 40. We threw hats on the kids and went outside and stayed out for about 3 hours. I really don't enjoy being out in anything under 40 or so, but over freezing is fair game. We occasionally go out when it's really cold, but they don't enjoy it so it's not often.

  • First, I would have been mad at DH for not taking them out while it was still 60 outside.  But then I would have bundled them up and gone out anyway.  DH and I get to go outside running even when it's cold, so I figure if they're willing to bundle up, it's only fair to let them go outside.  Heck, I don't even fight the coat battle with my 3 year old.

First dh didnt be take them out because it was naptime and I usually take them to the park. Secondly it was 60 when he put them down around 1pm. When I got home at 3:30 it was much cooler, and extremly windy. We had high winds yesterday as well. My gma actually got knocked off her porch because it. Luckily she wasnt hurt. If it wasnt so windy I would have taken them out. Landon and Kennedy always seem to get chapped skin around thier mouths when out in the wind. I was trying to avoid that. It was only about 45 by the time I got home. Its not the end of the world. She calmed down right after I posted. I switched some clothes from the wash to the dryer and she loves to help. She came out as soon as she heard me open the dryer. She helped and we talked about how its ok to be upset and cry sometimes but just because she couldnt do something she wanted doesnt mean she should throw a fit. I also explained why we couldnt go outside for the 8th time only this time she actually heard me. She was fine after that. Sorry for no spacing, Im on my phone.
